One of fifty one photographs originally in a photo album found in the National Wool Museum’s office. The album was water damaged and the images were removed for conservation. The images follow the process of wool. Beginning in a sheep paddock and finishing as a folded fabric. Augustus Shebler born in Berlin, Prussia in 1827 was a Melton resident started a store on the Flat at Bryan and Sherwin street in 1855. He built the Golden Fleece Hotel in 1865. He died at the Golden Fleece Hotel in 1908. The building, was demolished during the 1970s due to development in the area and was rebuilt in another location. Part of a collection of judges' assessment cards, prize certificates and ribbons, awarded between 1953 and 1959 at the Mannibadar Gymkhana fleece competition to Percy (Ronald Percival) Howell of Mannibadar for his Corriedale sheep fleeces. Percy (Ronald Percival) Howell farmed Corriedale and Merino sheep on his property at Mannibadar.
