Clothing. This garment has been severely damaged - the waistband has been removed, and a 45 cm diameter circle has been cut from the polished cotton lining. There is also fabric damage adjacent to the internal side pocket seam, velvet binding at hem, stiffened linen lines the inside at the hemline - 20 cm deep, and a narrow binding of black velvet encircles the lower hemline. While the waistband has been partly removed, the original two metal hooks, and three metal eyes are still in place. This garment is severely damaged, but it does still give insight into the inner construction of the garment. Clothing. Beautiful cream, floral, lace - probably linen, 10 cms deep. Each of the four layers of floral lace is overlapping a 3 cm wide, permanently pleated, band of cream silk, which is edged with a narrow 5 mm band of black velvet. The linen lace has a scalloped lower edge alternating five circles .8 cm diameter and four circles 1.2 cm - this edging forms the scalloped effect. Flowing scrolls and leaves fill in between the flowers. Presumably this four frill flounce has been removed from another garment to be recycled.costume, female, four frill layered garment trim

Clothing. Cotton crotched edging 6 cms wide. What appears to be the two armhole edgings - 6 cms wide, are joined by what may have been yoke inserts, or neckline edging. However the width of this panel -38 cms, does seem extremely wide. This joining panel-all crocheted in one piece, has an opening edge at what was possibly the back of the garment, Circular motifs, 2.5 cm in diameter, have plain border on the inner edge, and a more decorative edging, 2.5 cm wide on the outer edge. Clothing. Cream polished cotton, full length half slip petticoat. Plackett at the back, fastens with two metal hooks, and hand-stitched loops. The back features a 'crinolette', where two rows of tapes are gathered in to give volume to the back of the garment. As the crinoline started to subside at the end of the 1860's. The centre front panel features 6 angled bands of lace 4.5 cm wide and angled to form a V shape. (1) A 9.5 cm band of pleated linen gauze-like fabric, edged with a 5 cm band of linen lace. (2) A 15 cm double layered frill-top layer 2 cm wide silk like pleats, lined with linen muslin type fabric, and an under frill of polished cotton, pleated in one cm wide knife pleats. The top frill is of fine cream cotton lace. At the top edge is a 3.5 cm wide band of floral cotton lace, and adjoined at the lower edge with a 9 cm deep pleated trim of exquisite cotton "floral and swirls" lace. The top frill is 42 cm wide, and extends over the centre front panel only. A cotton covered " stiffening- possibly bamboo or whale bone, extends 31.5 cm ;long at the crinolette. An unusual 'pocket like bag' is sewn into the right side seam 14 cm below the waist. This has rounded corners, and is 8 cm wide at the top, 17.5 cm wide at the lower edge, which is then rounded slightly. Clothing. Pointed lapel collar, with underside of collar lined with felt. Two brass metal badges in a Leidertafel style - one on each side of collar. Cloth circular badges at the top of each sleeve are embroidered with a coat-of-arms, below which are two shields, one blue, and embroidered with a bunch of grapes, one red embroidered with a sheaf of wheat, a sheep, and perhaps a symbol of the landscape. Two breast pockets, rectangular with rounded lower corners and a shield shaped flap, closed with a 2 cm brass button impressed with a laurel wreath, and horn, suspended by a cord, and triple loop-a replica of British Light Infantry buttons. Clothing. Navy blue wool (or polyester?) fabric. Pointed lapel collar, lined on the underside with felt. Two brass Leidertafel style badges-one either side of collar. Two rectangular shield-shaped breast pockets have rounded lower corners, and a shield-shaped flap closure, fastened with a 1.8 cm brass like plastic button. All buttons have an impressed laural wreath and horn, (suspended by a three looped cord) - a replica of British Light Infantry buttons. Three brass like plastic buttons at centre front (4th one is missing). All buttons are pinned onto the garment to enable easy removable for cleaning. Two inside breast pockets. Fully lined with blue taffeta-like fabric. On each upper sleeve, at shoulder level there is an 8 cm diameter circular cloth badge, embroidered in blue, red, and gold, displaying a Coat-of- Arms, and two shields - one blue embroidered with a bunch of grapes, and one red, embroidered with a sheaf of wheat and a sheep. Clothing. Royal blue, single breasted blazer, with revere collar and three brass button front fastening. These three buttons and two smaller buttons on the sleeve cuffs, have the round sun symbol of Japan, and the Olympic Rings impressed into them. The breast pocket, with rounded lower corners has a cloth badge, 9.5 cm long X 6.5 cm wide, which is embroidered with a 5 cm diameter ball (of the sun) and five Olympic Rings in navy blue embroidery. One 20 cm long vent in lower centre back seam. Padded shoulders. Fully lined sleeves and front, while back is only lined across the shoulders. One inside pocket on each side front, has a button closure. Two pockets-22 cm long X 17 cm wide on either side of front, at lower edge. Single breasted. Above this, the yoke has three plastic pearl buttons to fasten. Lace is spoke stitched to the garment, and has a scalloped edge finish. Two bands of the lace edge - one 2.5cm wide, and one three cm wide. Where they are stitched together, a drawstring of stranded cotton enables the neckline to be gathered in. The lace is spoke-stitched to the fabric, and inserts in circular loops (2) and oval inserts (3) decorate the back across the bustling. One circular shape and two oval shapes decorate the back across the shoulders. Fine, machine stitched, french seams at side seams. Given to "Running Stitch" c1995 by the Korrumburra Art GalleryLarge wagga made from fabric pieces which have been hand stitched together and lined with jute wheat bags. Fabric pieces are roughly rectangular and of various sizes. They are made from cut-down cotton knit garments (green and pink), a pink cotton fabric with floral print and various woollen garment pieces and their linings. Pieces are roughly over stitched together with various woollen threads.
