The early settlement road passed to the left of the camera. House faced down over the valley of the Sassafras + Perrin Creek towards Kallista. The deviation to regrade the road passed to the right of the house. Postcard photograph showing a tree fern gully. The title on the front is Gully "Hospice" Olinda. The Hospice was a guest house built in 1904 by Joseph Gutmann in the Main Street of Olinda. The Dorey Family ran The Hospice from 1908 - 1911. The Hospice burned down in 1924. The reverse of the postcard contains a small section of a letter that must be continued elsewhere.
