This is a Camera Gun Recorder used in conjunction with a Gyro Gun Sight type 14A, G. G. S. Recorder Mk2 contained in a wooden box with hinged lid and retaining catch. The recorder consists of a metal enclosure with an electrical power supply cable fitted with a three pole female plug connector. A small access cover in the enclosure can be opened to replace the Recorder Magazine. There is a transparent aperture window on the underside of the enclosure.The recorder enclosure is inscribed with the Department of Defence mark and the following, "14A/3629, G.G.S., RECORDER, Mk2, 24V., XX 12012". There are small controls on the narrow side of the recorder which are marked "START, 0, 5, 10, 15, END" and "DULL, S.S. BRIGHT". Standard Australian Army World War 2 issue mess kit consisting of two tinned steel containers each in the form of a rectangular dish. Both have a folding wire handle and are designed so that one dish which is smaller fits inside the larger dish. These were issued to commissioned officer ranks.Each dish is stamped with the Australian Department of Defence arrowhead and the inscription "FEDERAL TINWARE W.A."

The name "Bretterecker" and the number 360053, (possibly a post World War 2 service number) is written in black ink on the inside surface of the belt. The belt has been "blackened" for ceremonial use and has brass fittings, the 2 angled buckles normally located on the rear of the belt have been removed. The 1937 pattern equipment (also known as '37 webbing') was an item of military load-carrying equipment. Pattern 37 replaced the 1908 Pattern and 1925 Pattern—on which it was based—and was standard issue for British and Commonwealth troops from its introduction in 1937, throughout World War II, and in the post-war period until it was superseded by 58 pattern webbing. The design was confirmed on 8 June 1938 and wide-scale issue began in 1939. Towards the end of World War II, some 37 Webbing was produced in jungle green for troops fighting in the Pacific Theatre, although purpose-made 44 Pattern Webbing was then introduced for the humid jungle conditions, being lighter in weight, quicker drying, and rot-proofed.[ Although 44 Pattern continued in use with the British Army for jungle warfare in its various post-World War II colonial conflicts, it did not replace 37 Pattern in general service, which was in use up until the introduction of 58 Pattern. A World War 2 era W. W. Boes and Co. MKll astro compass typically used as an aviation navigation aid. It is manufactured from aluminum with black enamel finish. An astro compass is a navigational tool used to determine true north from the position of the sun or astronomical bodies. These are used in circumstances where magnetic compasses and gyrocompasses are unreliable, for example in the presence of magnetic field anomalies (such as polar regions, ships hulls, aircraft hulls, etc.). A set of two spent ammunition rounds complete with projectile, which are souvenirs of World War 1. These are from the 1 inch Nordenfelt machine gun, the projectiles are made from solid steel with a brass jacket, have an exposed steel tip and have a groove near the base. Both the brass cartridge case and the projectile are highly polished and have been chromed (?). These are examples of trench art having been engraved with floral patterns and the words "to Fred from NL". These items were owned by Frederic Harley MM, s/n 910, a WW1 Artillery Gunner in the 36th Australian Heavy Artillery Group who served in France. He enlisted in Frankston and lived in Frankston after returning to Australia. Heavyweight cotton canvas infantryman's pack of the type issued during World War 1. The pack is rectangular in shape with a top flap that secures at the front with two leather straps and brass buckles. There are two side flaps which secure under this top flap with a steel button and serve as weather protection. There are two leather shoulder straps at the back which are secured to a reinforced base at the top of the pack with a strip of leather and brass buckles and slides, the fixed ends of these straps are attached to the pack by stitched and riveted reinforced leather. At the bottom centre there is a leather loop to allow supporting straps to be secured to the pack. Also attached to each reinforced base at the top of the pack is a short length of leather with a brass buckle for attaching the upper ends of the supporting straps. Inside the flap is a partially obscured maker's stamp which reads 'AUSTRALIA C.G.H.F. 1918' with a broad arrow. A checker's mark of a broad arrow and the initials 'SA' are also stamped on the inside.
