These medallions were awarded to school children to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Australia. This winning design depicts the seed caster with the seven ears of wheat representing the seven states and territories of Australia. The artist was John Wolfgang Elisher who was an Austrian sculptor.An item which was presented to all school children in 1951 to mark the occasion of 50 years of the Commonwealth.Bronze metal with image of seed broadcaster and dates in relief on front and inscription, seven ears of wheat and star burst on the reverse. Wills Street in the Kew ward of Studley Park was named after Thomas Wills. This work forms part of the collection assembled by the historian Dorothy Rogers, that was donated to the Kew Historical Society by her son John Rogers in 2015. The manuscripts, photographs, maps, and documents were sourced by her from both family and local collections or produced as references for her print publications. Many were directly used by Rogers in writing ‘Lovely Old Homes of Kew’ (1961) and 'A History of Kew' (1973), or the numerous articles on local history that she produced for suburban newspapers. Most of the photographs in the collection include detailed annotations in her hand.The Rogers Collection provides a comprehensive insight into the working habits of a historian in the 1960s and 1970s. This sticker was issued to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Warrnambool Botanic Gardens. These Gardens were first established in the early 1850s on a site near the mouth of the Hopkins River but this site proved unsuitable and the Gardens were moved to the present location (Cockman Street/ Botanic Road) in 1866. In 1877 William Guilfoyle was commissioned to provide a plan for the Botanic Gardens . A prominent curator was Charles Scoborio 1872 to 1906. This sticker is a minor interest as a memento of the 150th anniversary in 2016 of the Warrnambool Botanic Gardens A white sheet of paper containing a circular shaped sticker with blue print and a logo in green and purple. Emmanuel College is the result of the amalgamation of St Ann's girls' college and Christian Brothers' College boys' school in 1991. Mother Philomene Maguire arrived in Warrnambool and commenced a Convent of Mercy and school with the consent of the then Bishop of Victoria, Bishop Goold. The school opened in Wyton House in Botanic Road. Brother Egan arrived in 1902 and set up a Brothers' group and school and 104 boys enrolled. Since its inception in 1991 Emmanuel College provides a broad education for students to Year 12 level.
