TB PatternDemonstrates a conductors communication or signal bell made for use on tramcars.Brass Conductor Communication Bell, or signal bell, consisting of cast frame, bell, striker, bell pull part, one nut to secure the bell to the frame and two rivets securing for the bell pull part. Ballot box
Probably used in late 19th century/early 20th century by the Independent Order of Rechabites. Box found with other I.O.R memorabilia in cellar of Doll Museum at Ballarat.Dark, varnished wooden box used in conduct of ballots. Box has two round holes in top and a lockable drawer (key in it) which slides out to the side. Two funnel-shaped wooden pieces (one dark, one a lighter colour) fit into the holes at the top of box and the drawer is divided into two sections. Black and white glass voting tokens are inside box. Voters in the ballot would cast their vote by dropping a white or black token through one of the funnels into the box, to signify approval or rejection of issue being voted on.ballots, ballot boxes, voting, independent order of rechabites
