George and Anne Warren inherited the house, later to be known as Myrtlebank, from Robert and Sarah Graham. The first Wildflower Show was held in 1937. Grant Greenwood, the local school teacher, persuaded the Progress Association to hold a flower show and after its success it was decided to make it an annual event.
