"The foundation stone was laid on Wednesday, 21st June, 1905, before a large number of parishioners and visitors by Mrs T H Armstrong, wife of the Bishop of Wangaratta; Royston Ready presenting Mrs Armstrong with a silver trowel as a momento of the occasion."
