The note with the photos says: "The quality and ingenuity of the arts and crafts entered were outstanding and quite a daunting task for the judge, Mrs Janice Bridges". This was an Annual Art and Craft Exhibition that was run by the widows club. The items could be sold at trading tables and at the table outside Legacy House during Badge Week in September to raise funds. There were craft afternoons throughout the year for widows to learn new skills and gather together at Legacy House. Robin Boyd wrote two books on Japanese architects and architecture - “Kenzo Tange” published by George Braziller in 1962 and “New Directions in Japanese Architecture” published by Studio Vista in 1968. During the 1960s he travelled several times to Japan to research these books and as part of his role as Exhibits Architect for the Australian Pavilion at Expo ‘70 in Osaka. The Sogetsu Art Center (1958) was also known as the Sogetsu Hall and Office. He also taught at Melbourne Teachers' College and at Melbourne Church of England Grammar School. This item is part of the Federation University Art Collection. The Art Collection features over 2000 works and was listed as a 'Ballarat Treasure' in 2007.Framed landscape depicting the confluence of the Darebin Creek and the Yarra River.
