Set of A4 photocopies of 15 years of annual reports of The Electric Supply Company of Victoria Limited from 1920 to 1934. Most of the reports comprise three sheets - Directors Report, left hand side of the Balance Sheet, Trading Account and Profit and Loss Account on the right hand side. Some reports have a statutory declaration by the Manager and Secretary that the reports submitted are a true copy of the report. Items .1 to .12 detail the number of lamps connected, passengers carried and trading account for the last three years. This practice stopped when ESCo sold the company to the SEC but continued to manage it for a further four years. The Directors report from 9/1900 note the forthcoming sale of the company to the British Insulated Wire Company Limited and the problems of finalising the sale. Yields information about the despatch of a bogie tram to the Sydney Tramway Museum, being loaded in Wendouree Parade, outside the depot, using two cranes and the road being closed.Newspaper Clipping from the Courier, 28 September 1971, titled "Tram No 37 off to Sydney". Features a photo of Bogie tram No. 37 being lifted by two cranes in Wendouree Parade outside the tram depot. Newspaper Clipping from The Courier, October 1971, titled "Tram 42 Retires as a Church Kindergarten", with a photo of tram No. 42 being manoeuvred into the Zion Congregational Church yard in Sebastopol on a low loader, with the church in the background. Notes that tram was delivered by SEC workmen and that the foundations had been prepared for several weeks prior to delivery. People mentioned in the story are Rev Syd Munn, C. Merrett, SEC I. Demonstrates aspects of Safeworking on the Ballarat Tramway system from 1960 to c1936 when replaced by electric signs. Yields Information about the operation of Ballarat's trams and safeworking procedures.Cast brass item with a flat part recessed section with the words "BALLARAT TRAMWAYS SECTION STAFF" cast into the surface and a flat section underneath, flush with the outside edges in which the words "VICTORIA PARK LOOP / CARLTON ST LOOP" stamped in. Has an open rounded end which forms a handle or a point where it could be hung on a peg. The top line of words has a reddish paint inlay. Used as a means of authorising a tramcar to have sole use of the track between the named points to avoid head on collisions. Safeworking object - known as a section staff.
