Document - Report, Tramway Board, Dalgety and Co, "Lives of North Melbourne City Section ropes during 1917-18", 1918
Report - six sheets, were paper clipped together, three foolscap (marked 4370A) and two quarto sheets (marked 4370C) titled "Lives of North Melbourne City Section ropes during 1917-18", regarding a claim made through Dalgety and Company (3/1/19 and 6/1/1919) for damage on a section of rope that was on a ship that was sunk by enemy action. Has a three page report on the cable life and insurance claim made by the Tramway Board in 1918, looking at the life of the cable compared to previous ropes. Quite a detailed study made and costs incurred. A small sheet (marked 4370B) has pencil notations - was pinned to the top of the two Dalgety and Co letters..1 - has stamp "Copy to Engineer" in top left hand corner.trams, tramways, cable trams, reports, cables, insurance, world war 1 -

Document - Report, Tramway Board, "Proposed Flying City Shunt", 11/09/1917 12:00:00 AM
Report - hand made on very thin paper, almost rice paper, 3 pages + cover note of 2/11/1921 to Mr. Wilcox, General Manager from Mr. C. W. Young and W. A. Savage, Assist Traffic Manager titled "Proposed Flying City Shunt". Report suggests that improved shunting arrangements are needed at Collins and Spencer St due to increased traffic. Notes cars can be shunted in abnormal conditions in 40 seconds. Normal shunting was 60secs it appears. Report gives details of the costs and the shunting times taken to turn cable sets around. The cover note of 2/11/1921, re-submits the report to Mr Dix from a person (can read the signature) from the Fitzroy Power House. Last page was scanned separately as a jpg file. Model of Melbourne City Circle tram No. 812 in a presentation cardboard box, made by Cooee Concepts Pty Ltd in China. Tram secured into the card box by two screws just behind the life guard. Made from plastic with trolley poles from metal (trolley poles can be moved) light brown roof, green and yellow sides, black No. 15 trucks, advertising the Army and Haig Scotch Whiskey.
