Issued to Les Denmead by Lew Walker and marked on rear as such. Collected by the tramway Superintendent.Single SEC 16c ticket - yellow ink on off white paper, denomination 16c, lettered A521544, headed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Provincial Tramways. On rear in yellow ink is a SEC advertisement "ELECTRICITY makes life easier" with the SEC's little boy wrapped in a towel logo. The ticket number is in black ink. On rear in black ink are words "2nd last ticket issued on Ballarat Tramways Sept 19, 1971. To Les from Lew. Conductor on last tram No. 40, Conductor L. Walker 54". Printed with the Head of Queen Elizabeth II as a watermark, Hotel name overlain by the menu in red, with the name of the event at the top and two images of tram 38 in Wendouree Parade by a tram stop in both left and right hand corners. Printed using a colour bubble jet printer on plain A4 paper. Three copies held. Prepared by Neil Robe - dinner organiser. 1964.2 - A5 sheet photocopied with a Ballarat Tramway Museum 10cent ticket (A163000) blown up to fill the sheet and on the back - handwritten and photocopied - "Available for a complimentary ride on Sunday 16th September - remembering 30 years - S.E.C. Set of two letters and a newspaper cutting between Mr. P. J. Pringle of ESCo Ballarat and Mr. D. Murdoch, General Manager of the TB Melbourne regarding the controversy with the SEC regarding the possible takeover by the SEC of the Ballarat and Bendigo power supplies and the trams. 1973.1 - Letter from ESCo to TB dated 19/7/1927 and received by TB 21/7/1927 forwarding some cuttings regarding the matter (see Reg. Item 1973.3 and 1974.). On ESCo letterhead. 1972.2 - Carbon copy of letter from TB to ESCo, on pink paper dated 21/7/1927 regarding the matter. 1972.3 - Newspaper clipping from The Courier, 13/6/1927 titled "Future Electricity Supplies / Yallourn or the Company? / Ballarat and Bendigo Confer" Contains a statement from Mr. P. Pringle and reports on the conference held between Ballarat and Bendigo Councillors in Ballarat on previous Saturday afternoon. Very detailed report of the discussions. Also a report on the City of Bendigo's decision to accept the SEC's position subject to the trams being kept, report on Electricity to farms and a long letter regarding the issue by W. B. Photo of Ballarat tram 27, southbound at Grey St. loop waiting to cross a City bound tram car. Has one male passenger waiting to board the inbound tram and a conductor (in SEC hat) waiting to board the tram and act as the conductor back into the City. Trams between Bell St. and Sebastopol during the day, were driver only. Conductors changed trams at Bell St. or wherever they crossed one another on the single track. Tram has destination of "Sebastopol", and advertisements for "Twin Lakes" and Whitehorse whiskey. Note long grass on the left hand side of the photo.
