Demonstrates uniform cap manufacture, badge and has a strong association with a former Ballarat Driver - Jock Menzies.SEC Motorman/Drivers/Conductors cap - green cloth exterior, grey cotton interior lining, brown leather internal hat band, black cotton hat band on exterior with a plastic band at the front half of the cap terminating in two small SEC metal buttons on either side, black plastic peak fitted with cap or badge No. 60, nickel plated silver, in the centre of the cap above the hat band. Badge - ESCo Conductor, Stokes & Sons Melbourne, 1905
Yields information about the identification methods used by the ESCo to identify their crews to public and has a strong association with the individuals who wore them over time.Pressed metal uniform badge for ESCo Conductors. Round pressed steel badge with the words "ESCo OF V. LTD." pressed into the badge around the top portion of the badge, the word "CONDUCTOR" and number "13" pressed into the lower half of the badge -with small horizontal lines within the individual letters. Appears to have had a nickel silver finish originally. On rear badge two metal lugs have been soldered onto the badge. Has words "STOKES & SONS" stamped in reverse on the lower rear of the badge. Set of 12 views of Ballarat printed with six colour photos on one side and six black and white photos on the other side, printed onto a folded strip of paper glued within an embossed paper folder. On rear cover has publisher details "A Viewpoint Scenic Production"., titled "In Scenic Colour Ballarat, Vic". Front cover has title and small sketch showing a fountain, trees and church in the background. Would appear to be a generic cover for other cities as well. Set of 12 coloured views of Ballarat printed with six photos on either side of a folded strip of paper glued within an embossed paper folder. Published by Nucolorvue Productions Vic., titled "A Souvenir of Beautiful Ballarat". Front cover has a colour rural scene, title, address area and on base of cover "12 Specially Selected Views in Full Colour". Rear of Cover has a part of a colour scene as well and a slit for the envelope to be closed over and sealed. Newspaper Clipping from The Courier, October 1971, titled "Tram 42 Retires as a Church Kindergarten", with a photo of tram No. 42 being manoeuvred into the Zion Congregational Church yard in Sebastopol on a low loader, with the church in the background. Notes that tram was delivered by SEC workmen and that the foundations had been prepared for several weeks prior to delivery. People mentioned in the story are Rev Syd Munn, C. Merrett, SEC I. Yields information about Ballarat and Sturt St c1907 following the information of trams.Printed colour postcard of Ballarat electric tram leaving the Grenville St. terminus, at the bottom end of Sturt St terminus with an early motor bus or taxi in front of the tram crossing to the south side of Sturt St. Has buildings on both sides of Sturt St. in photograph, with some other horse drawn vehicles and many pedestrians. Note, none of the buildings have names shown on them - have been printed out. Photo taken soon after opening, no roof mounted destination boxes. On rear are places for correspondences stamp, address and manufacturers' name in a fancy motif "WTP".
