'Two Historical Gatherings' by Don Clark, Donald Clark, 1988
Donald Clark Collection.Two copies of a typed first-hand account written by amateur historian Donald Clark about two gatherings which occurred in Tarnagulla to commemorate historic events. The first was a bonfire to celebrate Australia's Bi-centenary, held at the Tarnagulla Recreation Reserve on June 18th, 1988, also including unveiling of a plaque to mark the restoration of the band rotunda. The second was a celebration to commemorate the centenary of the 1888 opening of the railway line Dunolly to Inglewood, held on November 20th, 1988. -

Wooden shingle from roof of Tarnagulla State School
David Gordon Collection. This small shingle was recovered during re-roofing operations at the Tarnagulla Primary School. It dates from the original construction of the building in 1874, and is in quite a good state of preservation considering its purpose. -

Blue Voting paper with Borough of Tarnagulla printed at the top. Candidates' Names are George Barlow, Thomas Bayliss, John Beynon, Thomas Henderson, William Herd Voting directions at the end of page. White paper titled Ballot Paper School District of the Borough of Tarnagulla. Candidates' Names are Henry Charles Bristol, Robert Harrison Burstall, Edward Buckley, Thomas Comrie, James Clouston, George Minto, and Thomas Scorer. Voting Directions printed at the bottom of page. Printed by John Ferres, Government Printer, Melbourne. Another piece of paper has Mr Cra? Goldfield's Historical Society written on it. Typed on another piece of paper is: These two ballot papers were found in the Tarnagulla Town Hall before its reconstruction this year. Apart from a few records in possession of the Goldfields Historical Society the Tarnagulla Borough Records were pulped during the war. The ballot paper for the School District is an election for a School Board of Advice in 1873 (the first election under the Act). The Voting paper is for the Borough Council, date unknown but it was not (underlined) the first election. With compliments of the Goldfields Historical Society per their Curator John J.
