Eltham District Historical Society heritage walk to follow the boundaries of the original Shillinglaw Farm in central Eltham, held Saturday, 4th November, 2017. The Shillinglaw Farm comprised Lot 90 of Holloway’s 1851 Little Eltham subdivision. Two and a half page A4 bifold tribute from companions and members of the Melbourne Walking Club with a photograph of Albert on front in a bush setting and loose page insert of order of Service. During Albert's time in the Walking Club he blazed the trail of many cross country walks around Healesville, Mount Donna Buang, Mount Juliet, Mount Buller and the Jamieson River. He was cared for in Donwood Nursing home, Croydon, at the end of his life.

Veterinary equipment. Although glass mortars and pestles are fragile, they are stain-resistant The substance to be ground is placed in the mortar and ground, crushed or mixed using the pestle. It would have been used to break up tablets. (identified by vet. Peter Honey) These items were found in an old walk-through dairy at Wombat Track near Orbost. These items are representative of items used in Orbost on dairy farms in the first half of 20th century.A mortar and pestle. The mortar (2397.1) is a shallow bowl. Clients may purchase one pen with the option of the whole draft concerned, and the best of these cattle is the mob Danny Knowles has walked down from Boondangie Station in the Gulf Country.The album and images are significant because they document literature written by a prominent member of the Wodonga community. Members of the Victorian Folk Music Club again accompanied us. Sydney Herbert Hazeldene (1893-1966) was born in Bath, England and arrived in Australia in 1906. HE walked for 10 days from Melbourne to Bamawm, where he found work on a dairy farm. After 3 years he walked to Eaglehawk where he found work as a wheeler in a mine. He served in WW1 at Gallipoli, where he was wounded. After his return to Bendigo he married Mary Eales and they began a successful bus service. Unfortunately their two buses were destroyed by fire so they purchased a truck and began a removalist/carrier business serving locally and interstate. When the work became too heavy for Sydney he bought land and set up a dairy farm. They also moved into breeding chickens and soon this business overtook the dairying with the last cows sold in 1942. The Kew Historical Society's postcard collection includes views of Kew, Melbourne and Greater Melbourne as well as those including overseas scenes sent or received from Europe or the Middle East. They date from the 1890s to the 2000s. These postcards may or may not include the name of the publisher or printer. A number of the cards were published as parts of popular series. A way of dating early postcards is to identify whether the reverse was divided by a central line which became the norm after 1902 in the United Kingdom.
