Two publications issued by the Shire of Sherbrooke to mark the opening of the new municipal offices in Glenfern Rd, Upwey, on 4th August 1966. - notice paper for special meeting of the council of Shire of Sherbrooke, A5 sized, two sheets in cardboard cover, held together by green ribbon. It contains a brief history, a Council Summons, the Order Of Business, list of serving councillors and Executive Officers. - souvenir booklet for the official opening of Municipal Officers and Council Chambers. 4 pages in thicker paper cover. Front cover has a sketch of the shire offices, with a floorplan on the back cover. -

Subdivision plans and real estate flyers/brochures reveal a number of aspects of urban development and history. The Kew Historical Society's collection of these plans, as well as advertisements extracted from magazines, cover key aspects of community development and architectural history of Kew and Kew Eat as well as surrounding suburbs. While most of the plans in the collection were gifted to the Society by the former City of Kew, a number of other plans and advertisements have been donated by individuals, of which this is an example.Original 8-page booklet advertising a new residential development in Bulleen entitled 'Yarraleen'. Gwen McWilliam is well known as an authority on the history of Boroondara and the author of a large number of books and pamphlets about the City. She was awarded the medal of the Order of Australia in 2001 ‘for service to the community of Hawthorn and district, particularly through the research, documentation and publication of its history.’ This map from her collection was donated to the Kew Historical SocietyPlan of Heidelberg, annotated with details about the occupancy pre and post European settlement. The plan also contains geological references. The plan is included and analysed in volume 2 of the Heidelberg Conservation Study (1985). The original plan was published created in 1982. The photograph was taken in 1989 when the children in grades 4 an 5 attended a school camp at Gundiwindi, which is in the Yarra Valley on the border of Wandin and Nth. Silvan. At the camp the children were acquainted with the skills used by the local indigenous people. The children the photograph attempted to construct a bark shelter along the lines of those build by the local indigenous people. The photograph was taken in 1989 when students in Grades 4 and 5 from Bulla Primary School attended a school camp at Gundiwindi Camp. The camp is in the Yarra Valley area on the border of North Wandin and Silvan.
