Trolley Wheel - cast brass, fitted with a cylindrical bush in the centre. Used on Melbourne trams until the late 1950's when changed for trolley skids to bring the power from the overhead into the tram. Fitted to the end of a trolley pole with another cast item known as a hasp. Has been used. This ship's wheel is an example of a simple handmade wheel for a small boat and can be used for comparison with professional ship's wheels for large sailing ships.Ship's wheel, small, with wooden spokes and handles, painted yellow. Set of notes for the Provincial Tramways Maintenance meeting to be held in Bendigo - 5/5/1958. Has a summary of actions from the 1957 conference, and an Agenda. One page of a multipage document titled "Some notes on the Agenda" dated 28/4/1958 reporting on track condition, life cycle on special work, flange running sections and rail hardness. Second loose sheet follows on from the 1957 conference, - rolling stock tyres, track maintenance - joining of rails and concrete sets. Memo dated 6/6/1958 from the Works Manager to Manager Ballarat branch forwarding a copy of the minutes of the conference held in Bendigo on 5/5/1968.
