A bar to the Military Medal means he has actually won two MM’s. Plastic covered folder with black binding containing typed diary of A R POWNALL 22.7.15 to 9.6.19, 120 pages. The Chapel attached to the 1917 Mission Building has been known variously over the years as: Memorial Chapel ( WWI Merchant seamen) ; St Peter Mariner's Chapel and St Peter's, Mariner's Church. In current day usage due to modest size it is referred to as Chapel. This postcard provides a sample record of the appreciation of volunteers by committee members at the Mission in the 20th C. and forwarded on their behalf to the donor's Grandfather Mr Arthur Ware countersigned by Padre Oliver ( Chaplain 1930-1960)A black and white photographic postcard of the interior of St Peter's Chapel, Mission to Seafarers, 717 Flinders St Melbourne.
