This certificate was awarded to Elsie Godden, a pupil at Linton State School.Colourful, illustrated certificate, shows winged angel on right hand side, and Australian flag in top left corner, with images of war and peace in lower section. The words "Peace on Earth / Goodwill Towards Man" are on a scroll top centre. Although opened by the Church of England in 1857, Huntly was not recognised as beginning until 1860 when it began to receive government funding. In 1862 it became known as a Common School. In the 1870's it was partly destroyed in a wind storm and a brick building was built to replace it. It became a State School between 1873 and 1878 and was renamed Huntly Primary School in 1970.Newspaper clipping, dated 11.6.66: 'Double Seater' article shows image and describes a buggy that was in the procession for the Huntly Primary School celebrations. Mr. Fiedler, a former student at the school, was the driver. He was in charge of a cab that operated on the Huntly to Bendigo run, for many years.

The photo is of the Sunbury State School No. 1002, which replaced an earlier building. The Federation style red-brick school was built in 1911 and was officially opened on 2nd May 1912. An extra room was added in 1945 to accommodate increased enrolment. In 1999 the school closed at the Stawell Street site and the students relocated to the former and refurbished bluestone Industrial School in Jacksons Hill. The former red-brick school building is now part of the Sunbury Community Health Centre complex.Many former and present-day residents in Sunbury have attended this school over the years.A black and white photograph of a small school building.
