Printed soon after Society established. Gives address of BTPS. Note highly distributed due to the spelling of the word "Ballarat" with two "a's" - Ballaarat. Has a sketch of a bogie tram on the pamphlet. Was used as note paper in the depot for many years. Object 3656 was found with item 3655 - possibly recording who donated item 3655 originally - C. H. Would have secured the tickets etc - one key with the crew members and the other with the revenue office.Padlock with hasp - from riveted steel sheets laminated together with two keys on a steel key ring - Master Lock Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. Lock No. 14, keyed for keys P676. Lock Number and key number stamped on the base of the lock. Each key has the number stamped onto it and the name and symbol of the Master Lock Co. BTPS did inspect but did not have the room to store and its poor condition went against recovery. Subsequently acquired by the TMSV and since sold?Photocopy of an article on an A4 sheet from the Geelong Advertiser dated 23-2-1985, titled "The elements a threat to historic tram". Article by David Fitzsimons about the poor condition of the body of Geelong tram No. 40 in Queens Park Newtown. Gives a short history of the tram, including its time in Ballarat as No. 43. Quotes Dr. David Ellerton who reported on the situation, Mr Tom Wilson, City Engineer of Newtown. Has a photo of the tram in Queens Park. On front cover is large letter "G" and words "To be returned to the inspectors office after completion of Training as Motorman" First four pages has index and covers: (A) Tramcar Equipment - electrical - items or clauses 1 to 28 (B) Location of Faults - items 29 - 41 (C) Tramcar Braking - items 42 to 59 (D) Failure of the Mechanical Brakes - items 60 to 67 (E) Tramcar Emergency Braking (Accident Prevention) - items 68 - 72 (F) Automatic Electric Signals - items 73 - 82 - gives locations of signals. (G) General Instructions - items 83 to 98. See condition notes - not in the best condition - needs careful handling. 3486.4 - ditto - similar to above, but 34 pages through to instruction 104. Added section (F) after (E) - "Automatic Braking - clauses 72 - 79, possibly an earlier version of above when trams were fitted with dead man controls. Held within a cardboard folder with a metal binder. Cover has been covered with brown paper and adhesive tape, but only remains on the inside of the cover. Item added 3/10/2007. Printed using the Gestetner duplicating process on foolscap paper in green ink, giving a back ground to the proposal for a heritage or historical tramway in Ballarat, a vision, the benefits of Ballarat, Agenda for the meeting, request for donations and draft resolutions. Graeme Breydon has written notes on pages 2 and 3 of the notes, including additional resolutions, changes to the resolutions and the people who made up the Committee. Prepared by Bill Jessup, Donald Fraser, Paul Nicholson and Frank Stamford. 3932.2 - meeting notes and attendees (some), including a map, notes Brown Hill and various comments of people.
