Albert Wilhelm August Boldt (1829-25/8/1895) was born in Strasbourg, Prussia. HE came to Australia and Bendigo in 1854 where he undertook mining. In 1860 he married Elise Marie Streiff.The following pages contain what is evidently the diary of Albert Wilhelm August Boldt, but it is not known who made the introductory comments and was very likely also the person who translated it into the English language. Denis Gibbons (1937 – 2011) Trained with the Australian Army, before travelling to Vietnam in January 1966, Denis stayed with the 1st Australian Task Force in Nui Dat working as a photographer. For almost five years Gibbons toured with nine Australian infantry battalions, posting compelling war images from within many combat zones before being flown out in late November 1970 after sustaining injuries.
