Sign, painted onto a MMTB auxiliary destination board of the type that could hang on the front of a Melbourne tram car with the words "St Kilda Football Ground" Black letters on a yellow background. The bottom right hand corner of the St Kilda has the letters "G.H." indicating the depot that it belonged to - East Preston. The reverse side has been painted in black and a "Shop early" for Christmas sing has been pasted onto it. Metal sign, fitted with metal hanging brackets, riveted to sign on both sides. Set of two different books, but with the same content about the Westinghouse Traction Brake Company, pamphlet 2412, titled "Westinghouse S6A and S6B Electric Compressor Governors" (known as Beetle back Governors). Photo shows the first build of the upgraded Y class design classified Y1 Class 610. Four of these Trams were built in the MMTB Preston Workshops in 1930, 610 to 613. There was one solitary Y Class tram 469. They were built with the intention of evaluating one-man operation. Due to their higher cost and Union resentment, the MMTB resorted to the proven W Class tram design. All Y and Y1 classes were withdrawn from regular passenger service in 1965 and transferred to the Driver training school at Hawthorn Depot. All cars are preserved in various museums in Australia. Envelope for collecting expired or about to be expired Scholars' Concession Tickets from students. Listed the number of tickets collected, the number sections the ticket was valid for, Conductor, Outfit Number and Date. It would appear that in the 1950's and perhaps earlier, that conductors had to collect if possible the concession passes from school children on the last day of term. In the collection (Reg Item 937), is a Scholar's Concession Ticket for the First term of 1956, which expired on 11-5-1956. Pressed metal plate with corners trimmed and rounded, top section partly folded with two slotted holes, four with sides folded to give strengthening to the plate, painted with a white background and the letter "M" and numbers painted in red, to give a Run Number Plate for Malvern Depot. Painted with the same detail on either side of the plate. Used by Malvern Depot until they were phased out and replaced with the Automatic Vehicle Monitoring system c1990. Used to identify the depot and "run number" or timetable that the tram was running on, two in each tram, to enable monitoring by inspectors and crews.
