Clothing - Port Melbourne Scouts, The Scout Shop, 1955 - 1956
When the donor first joined the Scouts the uniform was blue. It was then discovered that they weren't Sea Scouts and the uniform was changed to khaki. The donor was on duty as a scout at the Melbourne Olympic games and attended the Scout Jamboree at Clifford Park before the Olympics. He wore the shirt and one of the scarves at the 1956 Olympic games in Melbourne. Shield prepared for the senior road aggregate races for the Geelong West Cycling Club which then became the Geelong Cycling Club. The 2005 winner - Leigh Howard, was a professional rider with Team Colombia in 2010 and is currently on the pro tour with Orica Green Edge (commencing 2012). He was the World Omnium Champion in 2009, and World Madison Champion 2010 and 2011.This shield records the cyclists who were high achievers in the Geelong region.A mahogany coloured wooden shield with brass plated plaques containing inscriptions of winners of the senior road aggregate of the Geelong West Cycling Club during the years 1998-2002.
