Postcard - full colour, Divided back type of SW5 840 inbound in Victoria Parade May 1973 with the destination of City, Route 42. Note the hedges on either side of the tram reservation. Tram has front advertisements for TEAC sound equipment and Courage Draught. This letter was sent by William Henry Paterson and his wife Ethel on 24th February 1933. The agreement states that the couple have in the past made interest-free loans to the Trustees of the Sports Ground and Club House for the Blind in Kooyong. Tilly Aston moved to 42 Raleigh Street in 1913, after her mother had died and her brother married. She died there of cancer on 1 November 1947 and was buried in St Kilda cemetery; her estate was valued for probate at £1149. This letter was sent by C.C. Trumble of Mallesons Solicitors to H. M. Lightfoot. It discusses a query regarding the terms and conditions of the original 1926 Deed of Trust on whether the consumption of alcohol was permitted on the property managed by the Association of the Blind - the Kooyong recreational grounds and Clubhouse. In 1987 a farewell was held for John Wicking, former President of the AFB. The presentation of a medal "Rara Avis" (rare bird) and on the reverse 'Nil Taurus excretis' (no bull excretement) was made to the bemused honouree. Upon the front face of the plate is an image of Mr Wicking wearing a name plate 'The Guiding Light', as he climbs an 'Association for the Blind' sign to reach the guiding light at the top.
