2017 was a busy year for building and redevelopment at Galen Catholic College. This sequence of photos shows the progressive construction of the Galen Resource Centre, which housed the new Galen Library and the IT Assistance Hub. The building is the Bulla Community Centre, which replaced an older hall that was situated in the Bulla Sports Ground precinct in Greene Street. The Institute of Social Welfare, Watsonia operated on the Loyola Seminary campus 1973-74, which was purchased by the Probation and Training Division to run certificate courses for social workers and others. There was a proposal to establish a periodic detention centre on the site in November 1973, against which there were protests by local residents.News article, text only. The building used by Nelson Undertakers in Linton from the 1860s was renovated into a Californian bungalow in the 1920s. After being restored again in 1988/89, this building became the Resource Centre of the Linton & District Historical Society. In 2017 was given a fresh coat of paint and a colour change back to cream and brown.Colour photograph of a Californian bungalow style building, painted cream and brown, which has some iron lacework decorating the small front porch.
