First Montsalvat pise building, Built 1934-35, Designed by Justus Jorgensen, Founder of Montsalvat. This building was used for many years as a dining room and kitchen. Mt Beauty was handed over by the SECV to the Bright Shire when the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme was completed in 1961.Mt Beauty was a construction town built in the late 1940s.Mt Beauty was a construction town built by the SECV and run by the SECV until 1961 when it was handed over to the Shire of Bright.
