Borough of Tarnagulla, Queen Victoria Golden Jubilee Medal, 1887
David Gordon Collection. In 1887 the Tarnagulla Borough Council, along with many other municipalities throughout Australia, celebrated Queen Victoria's Jubilee in great style, with a street parade and a feast at the Recreation Reserve. To mark the occasion, the local schoolchildren were each presented with one of these medallions. -

Memorabilia - GOLD NUGGET COLLECTION: THE POSEIDON
A replica of the gold nugget 'Poseidon' that was discovered on the 18th of December 1906 at Tarnagulla. It was found 10 inches below the surface, 2 inches above bedrock with much quartz. It was found by Woodall and Party and named after a famous racehorse of the time. Gross weight 953 ozs. Net 703 ozs.
