This atlas was collected, along with fifteen other items, from St George's Hospital in Kew, Victoria, on the final day of obstetric services provided by the hospital. After 28/11/1998, all obstetric deliveries from the Birralee Maternity Service (St George's) were via Box Hill Hospital. Black hardcover book, with silver lettering on cover. Text printed on cover reads 'BIRTH ATLAS/SECOND EDITION/MATERNITY CENTRE ASSOCIATION/NEW YORK'. Maffra Sugarbeet MuseumTrowel
Presented to Mrs A.M. Foster (husband a director, may have been major shareholder) on occasion of laying of foundation stone at Maffra Sugarbeet Factory in 1897. Representatives of Frederick Barley, who visited the museum in September 2009 believe they have an identical trowelA silver presentation trowel with handle of unknown white compound, in an oblong case. The case is covered in black leatherette/paper, with green satin lining in the lid and black velvet inner base. Engraved to mark the laying of the foundation stone at the Maffra Sugarbeet Factory in 1897 by Mrs A.M. Foster. Much embellished with hand engraving. Box edged inside with ruched satin around edges."Presented to Mrs A.M. VFL premiership medal in display box, 1901 (medal)
Medal was awarded to Bill Griffith as a member of the victorious Essendon premiership team in 1901; put into presentation case by Jack Griffith, Bill's sonCircular gold 1901 VFL premiership medal. Engraved "VFL" logo has been cut out in centre of circle leaving a thin border; "Essendon F. C." engraved on top part of border, "Premiers 1901" engraved on bottom part of border. Reverse has"Griffiths" [sic] engraved on top part of border. Medal has small loop at top which has a small metal ring through it; royal blue silk ribbon (not original) has been passed through ring. Medal is in a black leather case with clear plastic top, lined with grey suede, with a metal lock at front. Gold metal panel has been attached to bottom edge of case top with "Donated by Jack Griffith" in black letters. Two more gold metal plaques have been attached to glass from the inside with grey plastic tape; top plaque has "1901 premiership medallion" in black text, and bottom plaque has " "Griffith, William (Ess.) - 1899-1913" with details of his career in black text. Black and white photocopied photo of Griffith has been attached to bottom of case next to the medal. Key to the lock is also in the case.Engraved "VFL" logo has been cut out in centre of circle leaving a thin border; "Essendon F. It played its first recorded game against a Carlton second twenty on 7 June 1873 (and won).Folded cardboard Essendon Football Club membership ticket; ticket has black and red border with Essendon logo at top with "100 years" in gold box between flags, "Essendon / Football Club / Centenary / 1972" in black and red print with "Essendon" and "Centenary" in a stylised scroll; "Suaviter in modo, fortitier in re" in small black print at bottom. Inside has details of Club and office bearers and Essendon's fixture for 1972. -

Was presented to Mrs Lucie Hallenstein, honorary secretary of Alfred Hospital combine auxiliaries c. 1920. Mrs Hallenstein's Granddaughter Jane Helena Walters nee Shannon trainee of Alfred Hospital 1948-1951 presented the box to the nursing achieves with a hand written letter of explanation on 28/04/2011. Paper card insert is signed by Louisa Mann who was matron from 1912-1928.Item is significant as it was presented from Louisa Mann. Item also carries the Maltese cross from the Alfred hospital insignia. Has been presented to the archive from Alfred Hospital trainee. Handcrafted wooden box with parquetry Maltese cross in center. Box is made with multiple timber types and shades, is finished with a gloss finish. Two brass hinges allow the box to open.
