The book has an alphabetical index at the front which records customer names and number/s of their order. Each handwritten page records the order number, date, name and goods supplied. The hard cardboard cover has "F O BOOK" added to it with black ink. The front cover has considerable wearing to the bottom middle including water damage. The mottled front and back covers have considerable wear. The red spine covering is worn, and the cover is starting to come away from the pages at the top. The book includes the date range of October 1890 to August 1894. All pages have been used. This item is part of the Margaret Roberts Collection. Alfred Ernest Edwards was born 29/12/1903 in Mitcham and died 4/7/1967 at Forest Hill. he was a kiln worker at Geal's Pottery, Nunawading. Doris Gwendoline was born in 1905 at Surrey Hills and died on 15/3/1996 in a Healesville nursing home. She was 91. When Doris two her father died. Her mother remarried (Finger) and she had two step-sisters. Kith Kiln was the site of a short lived charcoal kiln designed to provide an alternative to petrol during World War 11 when there was a fuel shortage. Local history has been told by Genseric (Bill) Parker and the reflections collected by Friends of Kirth Kiln (under the auspices of Parks Victoria).The booklet is significant because it tells the story of the development of the Kirth Kiln Park in Gembrook, from the Friends perspective.The park is not only historical but is also of great environmental significance and it forms part of community life in the district.
