His children attended Chatham Primary School.This book records the events, people and incidents involved since the first clubhouse was built as a gate-keeper's shed. This badge was found in a garden in Arnold Street, Bendigo. Not clear if WW1 or WW2, more likely WW1.Brass Badge. It has some evidence of writing that was originally on it. Moulded onto the front is the Aust Coat of Arms. Around the circumference are the words "Volunteered for Active Service" "Issued by Department of Defence" Medically Unfit. Introduced in 1974, the Braille Book of the Year was created to both acknowledge excellence in writing as well as raise the profile of Braille books. Murray Comrie Collection. Following the Armistice at the conclusion of the First World War, the residents of Tarnagulla, Newbridge, Arnold's Bridge (Arnold), Murphy's Creek and Woodstock gathered for a Peace Picnic celebration at Newbridge in July 1919. The traction engine of Calder Bros. was used to convey the Tarnagulla contingent to Newbridge on five wagons. A huge bonfire was lit at night. The picnic was declared an unqualified success, and the Tarnagulla participants returned to town at 7.30pm that evening.Monochrome photograph depicting children from Tarnagulla School on wagons pulled by Don Calder's steam traction engine, going to a Peace Celebration in 1919. Copy of an older original, Copy probably made in 1980s-90s. There were four wagons crammed with children, followed by a fifth wagon with the Tarnagulla Brass Band at full volume.
