Flag - made from Nylon? cloth fitted with sewn in hooks at the left hand edge to enable it to be flown from a flag pole with the second version (PTC era) of "The Met" printed. Made by Evan Evans Flags of 2 Albert St Preston c1995. This is an image of the original single storey Royal Hotel building which was on the corner of Brook and Evans Streets. In the 1930s the single storey structure was demolished after a fire and replaced with a double storey Art Deco red brick building, which still stands on the same site.At one stage there were four hotels in Evans Street between Station Street and Brook Street. At some stage the Millett family owned them. The Royal and the Olive Tree (formerly the Railway) hotels remain on their original site but not in their original appearance.A black and white photograph with a cream border of a single storey hotel building with a headlight window on the RHS of the corner entry doorway, which also has lead light windows. The photograph shows a picture of Evans Street Sunbury taken from the T intersection at Macedon Street and looking south. When the photograph was taken it was one of Sunbury's main residential areas. Since the 1980s the houses in the image have been demolished and replaced with commercial development.- Over the years Evans Street has undergone much change from being a residential strip to being the main commercial hub in Sunbury.– An enlarged photograph of a streetscape with a row of trees growing along the footpath and a number of weatherboard Victorian style double fronted cottages. Both the roadway and footpath are not surfaced and the gutter is lined with stone pavers.sunbury -

The two men are playing tennis on the former courts which were located in Evans Street in the open ground that was between Brook and Macedon Street. A shopping complex and car park occupies the site. The building is the Sunbury Post and Telegraph Office and residence, which was built on the corner of Brook and Evans Street in 1892. Prior to that time the postal service ion Sunbury was conducted at the railway station. Over the years changes and extensions have taken place to the building to accommodate it for modern postal delivery practices although it still operates from the same site.The Sunbury Post Office has operated in a building on the same site since 1892 despite many changes and extensions made to the building, which included the demolition of the residence attached to the original building.A black and white photograph of Victorian style brick building with a slate roof with 3 chimneys and surrounded by a white picket fence. Copy of artist's map of the Shire of Eltham with numerous historical and cultural places of interest illustrated and notated including evidence of original Wurundjeri occupation and local flora and fauna. The original watercolour is held in the Nillumbik Shire Council Civic Collection. "Evans remembers being surprised they had asked an artist to create this map rather than a designer. Originally made as a watercolour, the map was later made into posters and adorned many homes around the area. The map creatively interprets the town and provides a wayfinding to both cultural and historical points in the area." Flag, Evan Evans Flags, late 1960's?
Flag - sewn with a green backing cloth. reinforced at the two rope side corners with the letters "VTBA" and the MMTB Monogram or logo in the centre of the flag. Has a twine rope sewn into the flag with a white coloured retaining strip and fitted with slotted flag clips. A manufacturer's label has been sewn onto the bottom corner of the flag. Made by Evan Evans of Elizabeth St Melbourne, made from nylon 75% and wool 25%. The label states they were the official flag makers for the 16th (Melbourne) Olympic games and for the 8th British Empire / Commonwealth Games held in Kingston Jamaica in 1966.trams, tramways, bowls, sports, mmtb, flags -
