"In 1988, Patricia was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for her service to opera involving many years of voluntary work on the board of the Australian Opera - work which she greatly enjoyed involving travel, music and meeting many interesting and entertaining people. She was also a life member and former president of the National Gallery of Victoria Women's Association." Penleigh Boyd, Robin and Patricia Boyd's son, recalls that "Robin experimented with stereoscopic photography which, when viewed through either polaroid or red/green glasses, produced a three dimensional effect. A special double lens attachment with image splitting mirror was added in front of the normal camera lens to produce a double image similar to the image seen by each left and right eye".
