Patricia Boyd was on the Board of the Australia Opera for several years. The Walsh St house holds a significant collection of opera recordings. Penleigh Boyd wrote this in The Age obituary to Dorothea Patricia Davies AM (3 Jan 1921-5 Nov 2009). "In 1988, Patricia was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for her service to opera involving many years of voluntary work on the board of the Australian Opera - work which she greatly enjoyed involving travel, music and meeting many interesting and entertaining people. She was also a life member and former president of the National Gallery of Victoria Women's Association."
