The Greensborough Hotel is on the corner of Main Street and Hailes Street Greensborough. This drawing show the first proposed design of the building, drawn in 1923. It is different to the external design which can be seen today. Originally to be named the Farmers' Arms and built on the site of the original hotel of that name, it was renamed after the original Greensborough Hotel (on corner Grimshaw and Church Streets Greensborough) burnt down in 1923. The Fisher family lived at Waterloo farm, Smythe's Road, near Ballarat. Alice Russell Shaw the daughter of Jessie Black Hamilton and John Shaw, married Albert Fisher in 1909 and had 10 children by him. They lived at Waterloo farm, Smythe's Road. Alice Russell Fisher (Shaw) was known as 'Queenie' Fisher. This family farmed in the Smythe's area for many years. They produced fine milk and butter. Jean, their second eldest child recalled that when they made the butter sculptures they used plenty of salt so that it wouldn't melt. This concert programme is advertising a concert to be held for the Mission to Seamen, Pt. Pirie on Saturday, 23rd November 1923. Although it was held for the Port Pirie Mission the actual concert was to take place on board the T.S.S. Port Campbell. The names of the Captain of the ship, the Chairman of the concert, the Accompaniste and Pianist are mentioned. Listed in the programme are the names of the performers and the items they are to perform. A representative example of entertainment offered to seamen in the ports of Australia as organised by Ladies Harbor Lights Guild active in the various Missions to Seamen around Australia.
