This weight was worn by a marine diver to help him or her counteract the weight of their diving clothing and equipment and to ascend and descend in the water. The leather straps were threaded through the slots and bars on the weight and the leather panel was worn between the weight and the diver for padding and protection.This marine diver's weight is an example of weights used in the 20th century.A heavy thick metal disc designed as a marine diver's weight.
