The Western Victorian Games were launched as a part of the Australian Bicentenary celebrations in 1988. The inaugural games were programmed to run from the 9th - 11th December 1988 and become an annual event. The event however, never continued after 1988. The opening ceremony was conducted at Founders Hall BCAE, later Federation University.

Gold embossed black hard covered book with names and comments by attendees at Maroondah Federation Estate marking the 1921-2021 centenary of the school's Greenwood Avenue location. Celebrations took place on 12th November, 2022, delayed due to COVID pandemic.
