Churchill Island Heritage Farm has a large photograph collection dating from the nineteenth century to the present. This mug was found in an above ground rubbish pile at the rear of the house and mill that was dismantled in 2019. The rubbish pile contained many previously discarded items dating from approximately 1880's to 1980. It was built for Gwendoline Pitman after the death of her father Clarence Pitman and the disappearance of her sister Olive in July 1926. The old bridge from top of pile frameRecord of various Shire of Eltham infrastructure works undertaken during the period of 1952-1962 involving bridge and road reconstruction projects, sometimes with Eltham Shire Council Project Reference numbers quoted. It was during this period that a number of significant improvements were made to roads and new bridges constructed within the shire that remain in place as of present day (2022). In many situations, the photos provide a tangible visible record of infrastructure that existed throughout the early days of the Shire.
