Ann Holden married George Evans at the age of 16 in 1843. She lived at Emu Bottom and died in 1893 at the age of 67. Dr Donaldson (Snr) owned the block of land on the corner of Sussex and Grant Streets, Linton. He had a ten-room house set on the back of the block (where the block backs on to Surrey Street), with a large barn fronting Sussex Street. Other identifiable buildings in the photograph are Ball Brothers blacksmith's shop, the Royal Standard Hotel on the corner of Sussex and Clyde Streets, the Shire Hall, Criterion House and Joseph Shepherd's store. This is a photo of the Quinlivan family from Ballarat, Mary Ann Quinlivan nee Sheahan (born Cghills Creek and died 1932) was the daughter of Patrick Sheahan and Ellen Maher. She married Thomas Quinlivan in 1896 and they had the following children, Eileen (Eily) Teresa, 1898, John Francis, 1904 - 1906, Mary (Mae) Kathleen 1907 and Agnes Josephine 1909. Thomas and Mary ann ran the Royal Exchange Hotel on the corner of Peel and Mair streets in Ballarat, Victoria.
