This photograph is believed to have been taken after the laying of the foundation stone for the Parish Hall, in 1909. The Ballarat Star of 1 September 1909 reported that "After the ceremony an adjournment was made to the Shire Hall, where afternoon tea was served by the ladies of the congregation." A copy of this photograph is in the St Paul's Church of England file. This photograph is thought to be of the younger pupils attending Linton State School in 1918 or 1919. A second copy of this photograph is Registration number 2015-12. A companion photograph, which shows the older pupils in the same year, is Registration number 315. The same dog is in both photographs. James Garland Colliver lived and worked in Linton between 1863 and 1875, when he moved to Donald. He was actively involved in Linton's business and community life. (See Colliver family file at LDHS.) This photograph may show two adjacent business premises on the east side of Sussex Street, north of Clyde Street: Edwin Ball or Ball Brothers, blacksmiths, and J.G. Colliver, "Machinist". The Ball and Colliver families were related and are understood to have worked collaboratively. This certificate was issued to register William Todd as the owner of a residence area at Allotment 28, Section 4, Linton. This land was held under Miner's Right No. 93197. Sent as a Christmas card by T. & G. Thornton in 1941.A very small photograph which has been made into a plain, beige-coloured card with cut decorative edge and printed borders around edge of card and edge of photograph. The photograph shows Linton Post Office and Bank of New South Wales. A car (1940s or 1950s Holden?) is parked in Sussex Street outside the bank building. The words "A View at Linton" are printed on the front of the card underneath the photograph. A paper insert in the card has printed on one half: "May all the joys of an old-time Christmas be yours, and may the New Year be a happy one".
