The Tower truck is alongside the tram. Many people on bridge, traffic jam of motor vehicles on the bridge itself. Note buildings at the Batman avenue terminus. Can see a tram trolley pole of a tram in Batman Avenue. No curve from Batman Ave. into Swanston St. At least two of the trams do not have route number boxes. Tram has the destination of Drummond St. Nth, and has an advertisement for 60/40 dancing on Friday nights at the Civic Hall on the front panel and a SEC Electric Cooking roof advertisement. The Ballarat Orphanage building is on the right hand side of the tram. Shows the trees in Victoria St. and how the cars from Melbourne approached the tram stop. Date of photo on folder - 23/7/1961. Original negative rescanned 24/5/2020 and image file updated. Legal document within a light brown manila document - titled "City of St Kilda / Re proposed construction of electric tramway Brighton Road", dated 8/4/1925 regarding the construction by the MMTB of an electric tramway from the then cable terminus in Brighton Road to Glenhuntly Road and the type of paving to be used. Has the seals of both organisations, signed by the MMTB Chairman and Acting Secretary and the Mayor of St Kilda, Councillor and Town Clerk. Agreement consists of three sheets, bound together with green tape. Only two pages used. Mal Rowe advised by e-mail 21/9/20 (from the Norm Cross notes) that To commemorate 25 years of the opening of Luna Park in St. Kilda, No’s 235, 249, 303, 380, 422, 454 and 568 were painted silver with dark blue trim and suitable sign writing.
