The water tank stands on Sunbury Railway station and was in use when steam trains were used along Bendigo line. After travelling 37 kms (25 miles) from Melbourne, it was necessary for the trains to replenish their water supply at Sunbury. The presence of the water tank at Sunbury Station is an indicator that it was one of the major stations along the Bendigo line. A coloured photograph of a rectangular water tower.
