Diamond Creek Bridge (Bridge Street Bridge) Showing tremie used upstream cylinder pier No. 1 26th July 1956.Record of various Shire of Eltham infrastructure works undertaken during the period of 1952-1962 involving bridge and road reconstruction projects, sometimes with Eltham Shire Council Project Reference numbers quoted. It was during this period that a number of significant improvements were made to roads and new bridges constructed within the shire that remain in place as of present day (2022). In many situations, the photos provide a tangible visible record of infrastructure that existed throughout the early days of the Shire. Contains entries for monthly records of Units generated and consumed in the Ballarat SECV district from July 1956. For each month to July 1960, records power generated, load factors, maximum demands, traction power, public lighting, domestic, industrial, and commercial, and total sales and for auxiliary equipment at the power stations. From August 1960 to Dec. 1962 duplicated sheets titled "Energy Statistics" that do not give data for sales. See item 9542 for data from Nov. 1949 to June 1956. Ballarat A Power Station not recorded generating during Dec. 1956 then not every month during 1957. Some use during the winter of 1958. The Northern District School of Nursing opened in 1950 in to address the issues around nurse recruitment, training and education that had previously been hospital based. The residential school was to provide theoretical and in-house education and practical training over three years. The students would also receive practical hands-on training in the wards of associated hospitals. The Northern District School of Nursing operated from Lister House, Rowan Street, Bendigo. It was the first independent school of nursing in Victoria and continued until it closed in 1989.Black and white photograph of seven third year nurses. Photo taken in a garden.Names written on back. Shell service station and S G Winkler Service station with a Neptune sign. The driver has his hand on the air brake and the controller with the front driver's window open. One of a set of photos was taken between 15/2/1956 and 3/3/1956 when services operated only between Belmont and North before the final closure of the Belmont route on 25/31956 and that bogie tram 31 is not shown on the board, having gone to Ballarat on 15/2/1956 - see item 5554.
