Yields information about Ballarat No. 30, in the 1950's - SEC Official photograph.1708 - Black and white photograph of a Ballarat Sebastopol type tramcar when built new in 1913. Photo used in Keith Kings book, "The Ballarat Tramways" on page 28. Understood to be an ESCo photograph. Tram has "Suttons for Gramophones" roof advertisement, words "Ballarat Tramways" on the top rail above windows and "Coliseum Photoplays"in central window. Two of the four side blinds are in the down position, probably done to show their presence. Tram has a "bulls-eye" type destination indicator. Photographed outside the depot with Lake Wendouree in the background. Photograph is a photo of another print, with the words? "Original Rolling Stock" underneath the original print and the black ink "12" in the bottom left hand corner on the newer print. 1708.1 - as above, but without the "12" written on the photograph. Twenty 28 page printed program with a four colour cover printed on heavier stock for the 1971 Begonia Festival. Includes details of the organisers, a welcome to the City, Sovereign Hill, Official programme, (26/2 to 8/3), photos and details of the various tourist attractions, statistics about Ballaarat, some details of the facilities, churches, Royal South St and industry. The main text is printed in black ink, the centre 16pp consists of the programme printed in blue ink. Front page has a half full cover photo of the gardens area. All other photos are black and white. On page 31 is a small photo of a bogie tram at Mt. Pleasant and that these trams were 'doomed' and would be replaced by buses. Handwritten note from Chris Jacobson on Metropolitan Transit Authority of Victoria memo paper forwarding a copy to Warren Doubleday of the BTPS in Feb. 1988, with date received stamp at depot of 19/2/1988. 2. Photocopy of a memo on Metropolitan Transit letterhead from K. C. Painter dated 20/7/1987 to the Civil Engineering Design drafting staff forwarding a copy of the 1928 lectures to the then current staff. 3. Photocopy of a circular from J.P. Provides notes on the artists, their thoughts on the projects and details of the project. Sponsored by the Victorian Ministry for the Arts and Ministry of Transport. Manual D.P. 9. Stapled with two steel staples along fold. Describes in detail the electro-pneumatic brake system as used on Sydney Suburban trains, complete with diagrams, brake valve operation, magnet valve and isolating cock switch. 2285.2 - Six page technical pamphlet, titled "The Westinghouse Brake with electro-pneumatic control", published by Westinghouse Brake and Saxby Signal Co. 1915. Pages 3 and 4 have been tipped in the cover sheet. Describes standard brake equipment for use with electric trains and electro pneumatic control over the brakes. Gives details of house the brake valve (No. 18 EP) operates. Ninety six page book with blue cover, titled "Federal Rules of the Australian Tramway and Motor Omnibus Employee's Association" as amended by the Australian Council 1969. Cover - light blue cover, saddle stapled with two staples to the off white printed rules of the Union. Rules printed on 76 pages, with pages 77 to 80 numbered only and the last 16 pages un-numbered. Pages ii to iv has a detailed index giving rule number and page number. 2290.1 - additional copy with "L. Bird" in ink on the top right hand corner. - added 1/2/2008 2290.2 - additional copy with "A. Significant in being a roster rotation sheet that issued prior to the reduction in services - date unknown and also a different way of doing things compared to other sheets. Also shows conductors.Single sheet of off white duplicating paper titled "Motormen/Conductors' Rotation Roster and Conductors' Rotation Roster S.134". S134 is a form number? Printed by wax cut stencil or Gestetner method. Details the run number operated by Motormen / Conductors on a particular table for the day of the week. Thought to predate items in Reg. No. 2293 or 2294 as it shows both conductors and drivers (motormen), possibly the second last roster.
