The box camera is a simple type of camera, the most common form being a cardboard or plastic box with a lens in one end and film at the other. They were very popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A series of film box cameras were made by Kodak Ltd. in England and were made of sheet metal. There were three generations, from 1937-41, 1946-53 and - renamed "Brownie Six-20" - 1953-57.
