Some information given on the Old Carlisle, the North Garden and the Passby. The poppet legs on the Ironbark came from the Hercules No. 1 mine on Danger Hill and before that at the Unity Mine, Ironbark. The Carlisle United was J.B. Watson's mine until his death in 1892. The summary brochure provides an outline of the material contained in the Environment Effects Statement and proposed planning scheme amendments upon which, the Deborah Reef Project will be assessed. Page four lists the issues that impact on this submission: planning and land use; socio economic environment; traffic; discharges to air; water management; explosives storage and handling; subsidence; heritage; flora and fauna and landscape and visual assessment. Newspaper article and typed copy of same, detailing the fatal accident that occurred at the mine on the 22nd January 1953, in which Herbert Hunter of Kangaroo Flat was killed. ' Hunter was working at No 16 level at a depth of 1270 feet from the surface and about 500 feet south from the shaft when a large piece of stone , estimated to wrigh about one ton, broke away.
