Ninety six page book with blue cover, titled "Federal Rules of the Australian Tramway and Motor Omnibus Employee's Association" as amended by the Australian Council 1969. Cover - light blue cover, saddle stapled with two staples to the off white printed rules of the Union. Rules printed on 76 pages, with pages 77 to 80 numbered only and the last 16 pages un-numbered. Pages ii to iv has a detailed index giving rule number and page number. 2290.1 - additional copy with "L. Bird" in ink on the top right hand corner. - added 1/2/2008 2290.2 - additional copy with "A. Document - Roster, "Motormen/Conductors' Rotation Roster and Conductors' Rotation Roster S.134", Pre 1970
Significant in being a roster rotation sheet that issued prior to the reduction in services - date unknown and also a different way of doing things compared to other sheets. Also shows conductors.Single sheet of off white duplicating paper titled "Motormen/Conductors' Rotation Roster and Conductors' Rotation Roster S.134". S134 is a form number? Printed by wax cut stencil or Gestetner method. Details the run number operated by Motormen / Conductors on a particular table for the day of the week. Thought to predate items in Reg. No. 2293 or 2294 as it shows both conductors and drivers (motormen), possibly the second last roster. Pamphlet, Ballarat tram rosters, late 1960's
Has a strong association with tram crews and the rosters crew workings, possibly D.J. Everett. Prepared by crews from sheets to enable them to know what service times to run, meal times, details of crew changes etc, based on their allocated shift or run from the roster.Thirty eight (38) page red metal spiral binding, notebook with card board covers. Each sheet faint ruled, both sides. Front cover had a drawing of a Scots lassie with a Scots terrier on a lead and a drawing of a street scene in the background with the words "Scotland" in script. Rear cover has a drawing of a castle on it. Each sheet, most left hand side only has the hand written details of each SEC Ballarat run - giving sign on times, notes, timetables, which run taken or taken by, meal times, notes with regard to special instructions, finish times and total hours worked. Image 1 shows covers and image 2, one of the sheets with the runs printed on both side of the page. On a scrap of paper, written on the back of a Ballarat Summary timesheet for a Thursday in 1968 is the run details for 22 run. Has been folded into 4. Demonstrates the Museum's ticketing systems and ongoing production of tickets.Yellow index board - printed as an "All Day Ticket" for the "Ballarat Tourist Tramway" - issued by the BTPS with space for the date to be written in and signature of the conductor who issued the ticket. Produced at the start of operations for the BTPS Dec. 1974 or Jan. 1975. Used until 31/10/1975 when next series of all day tickets introduced. Items collected for archives 1975. Five samples held. Murdoch, General Manager of the TB Melbourne regarding the controversy with the SEC regarding the possible takeover by the SEC of the Ballarat and Bendigo power supplies and the trams. 1973.1 - Letter from ESCo to TB dated 19/7/1927 and received by TB 21/7/1927 forwarding some cuttings regarding the matter (see Reg. Item 1973.3 and 1974.). Letter dated 14/9/1928, received by the TB 15/9/1928. On ESCo letterhead. 1975.2 - Carbon copy of a letter on pink paper from Mr. Murdoch to Mr. Pringle advising that he thinks he can assist in some matter. Dated 10/9/1928. Set of two letters between Mr. P. J. Pringle of ESCo Ballarat and Mr. D. Murdoch, General Manager of the TB Melbourne and a copy of the Victorian Government Gazette of Wed. 20/3/1929 regarding fares along the same routes that trams and buses travel. In Bendigo and Melbourne, the fare by bus was 1 penny more than the tram. 1976.1 - Victorian Government Gazette - No. 32 - 20/3/1929 - pages 1067 to 1124 - with page 1081 highlighted on the front cover in blue pencil and a ESCo date received stamp (16/4/1929) on the front cover. Page 1081 details the City of Bendigo's By- Laws and Regulations No. 58, pursuant to the Urban and Country Act of 1927, relating to Motor Omnibuses. Details the requirements of bus owners in the Bendigo district, definitions, licence fees, routes and fares, timetables over five pages. Following this item are similar regulations for the Shire of Mildura (p1086). Item 335H x 210W, consisting of four staple sections. Damaged on left hand edges, particularly around page 1081 where the two letters were pinned. (Removed at time of cataloguing). Also yellowing and damage due to silver fish along bottom edge. Printed by H.J. Green Government Printer, Melbourne. 1976.2 - Letter from Mr. P. J. Pringle (ESCo) to A. D. Murdoch Manger TB dated 16/4/1929 forwarding a copy of the Bendigo Motor Bus regulations and noted that where the buses traversed the tram routes, the fare is 1d more and that the buses have regular service schedules. Licence fee is 5/- per annum per passenger that the bus can carry. Mr. Pringle thought that this was inadequate. Also notes the cost of insurance. On ESCo letterhead - two pages white paper, has been folded into 6, pinned in the top left hand corner., damaged on the right hand edge and top left hand corner. Size 262H x 203W. 1976.3 - Carbon copy of letter from Mr. Murdoch to Mr. Pringle on pink paper, dated 20/4/1929 thanking of the advice and noting that on the Melbourne - Brighton - Caulfield route, the minimum fare where the bus traverses the same route as the tram, is 5d, while the tram fare is 4d. All corners damaged or folded, silver fish damage on right hand edge. Size - 336H x 2089W.
