Yields information about the correspondence that was sent to various parties about the opening of tram tracks for underground services in Bendigo.Set of four documents: .1 - Letter on SECV letterhead, "Bendigo Electricity Supply and Tramways", not dated, gives phone number, address, duplicated in black ink, titled "Crossing Under Tramway Tracks", consisting of one foolscap sheet. Would have been written as a base letter to go various bodies, has the word "Manager" on the very bottom of the page. Outlines the processes that have to be undertaken in order to install pipelines under tram tracks. Demonstrates aspects of the Ballarat Tramways management system of Conductors rosters interfacing with Drivers during the last full period of operation of the tramway from March 1970. Shows the services and how the various run or crew tables were arranged in relation to the overall timetable.Handwritten sheet on graph paper for Weekdays and Saturdays Rosters for the arrangement on Mt Pleasant - Gardens, Victoria St - Gardens and Lydiard St Nth - Sebastopol routes. Gives the various run numbers, sign on location, trip take times, notes on what to do with trams, sign off times, interface with other runs. Shows the full service where conductors were used and how the various run or crew tables were arranged. See Reg item 3429 for Drivers table. Yields information about the relocation of the bogie trams from the old SEC depot to the new BTPS depot in the gardens and partly how it was done.Newspaper cutting from The Courier, Ballarat, titled "Trams roll again", Wednesday 19/7/1972 of tram 40 in Wendouree Parade behind John Withers Land Rover and tram 38 on the temporary access track the previous day, while being moved into the new depot. Significant in being a detailed set of instructions for the tramcar braking system, emergency braking, what to do if things went wrong. Also has questions and answers concerning the braking system. Relates to the driver training system at the time. A later version of that of Reg item 271.Set of six foolscap sheets duplicated, titled "Tramcar Emergency Braking", giving instructions for emergency braking of tramcars for Ballarat and a set of relevant questions and answers, subtitled "Tramcar Braking". Gives description of system, the various means of what to do if the system fails - dated 2th January 1965. The Questions and answers concern the braking system. Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat tramways and how they were presented at the various times during the SEC control.Three number - 3 No. - Paper SEC ticket - 3d in value, (three pence) - orange ink on off white paper, numbered A241960, 307283 and 361417. The ticket price is in orange ink while the ticket number itself is in black ink. On rear in orange ink is a diagonal criss cross or tartan pattern. All tickets have been used. Not numbered on rear. All tickets and Reg Item 4006, 4007, 4009 to 4018 were received originally in a folded cloth wrapper - wax canvas? - see Reg item 4009. Item caption notes the Victorian Country Fire Brigades annual demonstration in Ballarat the previous day and "The tram decorated with flowers in an attractive feature of Ballarat's floral festival." Photo features two crew standing along side the tram and a passenger boarding it. Tram has the destination of "Haddon St." See Reg.
