A reprint of the Legacy Memorial Address for Legatee Donovan Joynt VC. a long serving Legatee. The address was given as part of the funeral service held at St Mary's Anglican Church in Caulfield on 12 May 1986. The initial on the page implies it was given by KDG. It mentions Legatee Joynt was allocated badge number 7 of the newly formed Legacy Club in 1923. The article was part of an album of past presidents and prominent legatees from 1965 to 1989. The folder included biographical details and obituaries, eulogies and death notices of prominent Legatees. The Rats of Tobruk were soldiers of the Australian-led Allied garrison that held the Libyan port of Tobruk against the Afrika Corps, during the Siege of Tobruk in World War II. The siege started on 11 April 1941 and was relieved on 10 December. The port continued to be held by the Allies until its surrender on 21 June 1942. HUTCHINS, Mervyn Arthur Thomas VX27912 Born in Mornington, Victoria, October 1906, Mervyn joined the Australian Armed Forces in Caulfield in June 1940. Mervyn was posted with the 2/23rd Battalion and was sent to Tobruk. He died at Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital in the 1970'sMervyn Hutchins owned this jacket. Four Legacy widows from the Caulfield Legacy Widows Club. Keesing Photographers took a series of photos on the same day of various ladies and some were committee members at different clubs. Presumably there had a been a meeting at Legacy House of members from the many clubs (including Hampton, Highett, Caufield). Pg 3 could mean the photo was used in an issue of The Answer. It is assumed that the date was 1991 due to the reference number from the photographic studio 911030A-28 could mean 30 October 1991, along with 00645, 00646, 00647, 00648, 00649, 00650. John TESCHENDORFf (1942- ) Born Richmond, Melbourne, Victoria John Teschendorff studied at the Caulfield Institute of Technology (now Monash University), the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and the Royal College of Art London. In 1995 he was selected for Australian Ceramics 1830-1995 a major survey exhibition presented at the Museo Internazionale della Ceramiche, Faenza Italy. Since the early 1980s John Teschendorff has been working with constructed forms and works on paper whilst holding a number of senior academic appointments in Melbourne (Melbourne State College), Perth (Curtin University) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysian Institute of Art & Limkokwing Institute of Technology). Annual report of the Association for the Advancement of the Blind outlined activities and events over the year, including attaining 210 members, a talk by Tilly Aston and another by Mr Lowe on cooperation were held, the Annual Picnic was held at the Caulfield Racecourse on the King's Birthday and included a band, some trials of skills and an impromptu concert at the end of the day, 50 pounds has been put aside for the Sick Benevolent Fund however this cannot be established until 200 pounds has been raised, and an approach has been made to the government for securing an Old Age pension for those who are blind however nothing definite has been granted.1 volume of printed material with some illustrationsassociation for the advancement of the blind, annual reports
