Blank or Unused Scholar's monthly ticket for use by under 15 years students, numbered A01831, 33 and 34. Has form number "TYE 2-13" in top left hand corner. Space for an expiry date to be stamped on the ticket and name, address and school of the student. Petrol rationing was gazetted in May 1941. Australia's lack of fuel storage options and the diversion of tankers bringing fuel here forced the government to begin rationing. Initially it was proposed that consumption should be reduced by 50% but this was modified to 1/3 reduction. People had to apply for a petrol licence and this was then used to obtain ration coupons. Initially coupons were issued on a 6 monthly basis but this was reduced to 2 monthly and allowed people roughly 2000 gallons per year. Coupons allowed for 1, 2, 5, 10, 44 and 100 gallon amounts depending on need. eg. private, commercial, farm use. Rationing was strictly enforced until 1942 but remained in effect until 1950.WWII Fuel Ration Cards: A sheet consisting of 9 tickets with perforations for individual use. Cream back ground with pink print. The top has a leaf design with "Commonwealth of Australia" written across the top. Underneath is "Motor Spirit Ration Ticket" with the Commonwealth emblem in the middle. The ticket is for 1 One Gallon Valid only until 31st July 1947 and is not transferable. Prepaid MMTB tickets for use on MMTB services. Has the conditions of use on the rear. These were printed in sheets and torn off as needed by the issuing hospital or service for use by an Incapacitated soldier. Has been punched at section 6 on the inbound journey. The MMTB 1975 Sections and Fares book for example on page 86 advises that they were issued to ex-servicemen who have suffered the loss of an arm as the result of war service. The typed document, most likely from an original document, details the rules for Electric Supply Co of Victoria (ESCo) Conductors. ESCo was the operator of the Ballarat Tramways from 1905 to 1934. Notes issuing of tickets, operational issues, trailers, bell signs, cash handling, parcels, behavior, uniforms, and inspectors. Conductors were primarily youths, under 21 and could be sacked for errors and were generally not employed after they turned 21. Notes the Grenville St shelter/office of ESCo. The Kiewa Hydro Workmen's Club was established in 1948. It was a recreational facility for the men working on the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme. The Kiewa Hydro Workmen's Club was established firstly as a shop by the SECV during the construction of the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme. It became a Club to enable members to purchase and consume liquor on the premises. Alex McCullough was a member in 1955 and was a prominent citizen.Small, thin booklet with grey cardboard cover with 16 pages (out of order) stapled at the spine. The Centenary of Warrnambool in 1947 drew crowds of 20000. It was generally felt that the celebrations excelled anything that had been seen in the city in the last 100 years. There were numerous activities held over the weekend including an elaborate street parade which was followed by joining the 4500 children at sports and picnic celebrations at the showgrounds. The Warrnambool and District Turf club also held a race meeting to aid the Hospital and raised 740 pounds. It was estimated that 20000 attended the finale bonfire and fireworks in Albert Park.
