Lloyd Brothers butchers were located on the NW corner Whitehorse Road and Elgar Roads; previously the premises of Edward Tacey, butcher, established in 1888. There was an abattoir adjoining the premises. In 1901 the Box Hill Reporter contained a protest regarding the proposed extension of the abattoir. In 1907 it was claimed that the development of land in Mont Albert was hindered by the smells and operations of the abattoir. Brother and sister, Panogiannis (Peter) Raftopoulos ( Bourlotos) and Kalypso Sofianos are photographed with Kalypso's children, Konstandina (Nina) and Spiros (Pip). Panogiannis was actively involved with the IPS. He was elected Secretary only about a year after he came to Melbourne. He proposed the introduction of the IPS Tertiary Bursaries which were introduced in 1988 and are now known as the Year 12 Awards. Council has expressed concens with local radio station ECB FM's proposed rule changes which, according to a council report, attempts to remove any influence of Ringwood Coucil from the station. Council has recommended $3130 be budgeted next financial year for a sharps disposal service for prescribed intravenous drug users.` -

A letter is handwritten to Principal of the Ballarat School of Mines, E..J. Barker, requesting a tour of the School, and the proposed Mt Helen Campus. The letter is signed by Alice Horner of the Ballarat Study Group Committee. Other members of the Ballarat Committee were J. Hanford Stevens, Jack Chisholm, J.T. Kilfoyle, Dr A. King and B. McOrist.
